من خلال عمله هو وأصدقائه في فندق قرب شاطيء البحر, يتعرف فوجي فيجيشيرو على كاورو أماني مغنية شوارع, تعاني كاورو منذ طفولتها من مرض غير قابل لشفاء إسمه Xp أي Xeroderma pigmentosum , يجعلها تعاني من حساسية قاتلة من أشعة الشمس.
